Default Turkey Vulture in a light rain

I don't often see the turkey vultures perched, my usual view is of a soaring bird. So I was glad I had the camera in the car when I saw this bird. I rolled down the passenger window and leaned across the seat as best as I could. A little further down the dirt road I saw what attracted the vultures, a dead yellow-bellied marmot.

    Canon 1D-Mark IV, Canon 70-200 f2.8 L IS @ 200, ISO 800, f5.6, 1/250, +1 exp. comp.

    All C & C most welcome.

Good job getting close. I would tone down the midtones just a bit.

They don't usually stay on a post and let you get close..good capture. Good advice above.

I used curves to reduce the midtones. Not sure if it is much different.

Tough customer to get perched. Very good job bringing out the black detail.

nice pose and details, wish he was on a better perch, there seems to be an issue with color balance since TV looks reddish brown as presented, it should be black
