    Default Oystercatcher against Tide

This was taken at Nickerson in the morning. I really like the reddish light. I saw this Oystercatcher which was repeatedly bringing food for the young chicks and was successful finding food after each tide strikes the shore...I wanted to capture this one against the tide the way I saw it and it really was a thrilling experience.

PP - Cropped and added exposure.

    C&C welcome.

Love the wave and morsel. Looks like it has a slight red cast to me.

Sachin, I like your low perspective here, and good to see the food item. The distant surf does work nicely as a BG to show up the colours of the OC. Comp wise, I would have gone with something like this. Hope you dont mind. I also took out the red cast in the surf.

    Thanks for you suggestion Stuart.

I never mind changes made to the image in fact that is what will improve my skills and technique..

But I really wanted to show the wave and waited pretty long to have wave, Bird in correct position and food all at same time...

This one was beating the tide smartly and with each tide he was finding something which he then would take back to nest to feed the young ones....

I will get rid of the red cast.

    Thanks again.

I agree in cropping some off from below, perhaps to above the dark spot...but I love the full view of the wave as is. Nice red cast removal.

The wave and morsel of food tell a nice story.

    Well done!

I like the waves in the BG, really cool, agree that there is a color cast and perhaps a little bit more sharpening on the bird.
