    I took this image in early morning light. There was a colony nesting in these Cypress trees. The area was very busy with branches so it was quite difficult to find a good shooting angle.

    This great egret is showing beautiful breeding color and plumage and the soft early light was nice. The bird's head is turned slightly away and the busy background does detract, especially the dark shadows on the left and the sticks in front of the bird's body. Hopefully you will get another chance at one in a better setting.

    As mentioned very lovely lighting and I like the breeding colors around the eye as well as the beautiful breeding plumage. Linda covered the nits but hope you will be able to capture some more images of this beauty. . Many thaks for sharing Rene !
