    Default Greater Flamingo

Captured this image last year at a local lake. We were photographing Grey Headed Gulls, but also knew that a few Greater Flamingo's were searching for food at the center of the lake. Out of nowhere on of them flew of to our direction and glided over the water. Everything came together perfectly!

Great pose and light Wynand. Love the running and the water splashes. Great colors and the exp looks good. Maybe + 2/3rds or a full stop on exp comp would have given you a bit more detail under the wings in the dark feathers. I see a touch of noise in the lighter parts but nothing that spoils the image in my opinion....Great stuff bud

Symphony in motion !!! I might be nitpicking too much if I say that I would have liked a wee bit of head turn here . Still , this is a brilliant frame . Wish it was mine !

Terrific shot, Wynaad. That splash takes it up a notch. Excellent angle, pose, colors and composition.

It can go a bit brighter.

Very well timed Wynand, and love the shape of the splash. Super colours in the BG, and another vote for going a touch brighter. Well captured.

    Hi Wynand,
I just love the water splash. I would try to brighten up the underwings if you can in PP. You were probably set up for shooting white gulls so you had the EV at +1/3. The flamingo needed at least +2/3 to +1EV. Obviously, you didn't have time to change your settings. But, that is why PP is so great! It gives us a second chance.
The BG is yummy and the bird is tack sharp. Well done,
    Gail

Thanks so much for the comments and suggestions everyone! Will go and try to brighten it up a bit, just don't want to have too much of the noise in the under wings come out.

    Appreciate!
