Hi John, good job on capturing this busy little one. Nice pose and good fortune to catch the wings almost stationary at the top of the stroke! Nice sharpness and clear eye and your color rendition is very good. The white area of the throat is a little hot and could be toned down a little. The red of the flowers really competes for the viewer's attention and I would suggest lowering the saturation of the reds a bit. I like the composition, but the oof flower in the background is distracting to my eye. Nice job overall!

To each our own, my first reaction is that I really like the BG flower for the depth it adds. Nice that it doesn't intersect with the bird's head. Otherwise I agree with Kerry, one to be proud of.

    John,

I like the real flower and natural setting. Love the feet, agree background could be cleaner. Nice job, thanks for sharing.

Now you know why hummingbirds perch on teeny weeny branches. They have teeny weeny feet!

John - this is great. I don't mind the oof flower in the bg, but do wonder what the vertical stripes in the bg are. Excellent sharpness and detail.

Beautiful detail and pose. I agree w Kerry tone down the in focus flower. I too find the OOF flower distacting. But great image of the bird and the teeny weeny feet

The vertical stripes are the deer exclosure fence surrounding this flower bed.
