    Canon 7D
    f 2.8 70-200mm at 200 mm
    cropped by 25%
    ISO 500 (try to stay as low as possible with 7D)
    f 3.2
    SS 1/60
    manual
    This little guy is about 23 days old. He fledged 5 days later. Very difficult lighting conditions as you can tell by specs.
    No flash used. I found that the parents did not mind fill flash at -2 2/3 but the baby did. He would twitch and retreat into nest cavity so I just stopped using flash

    Hi Gail,

    Well done for capturing that pose, and the frantic- begging look of the bird! Sharp plumage and good eye details. I would prefer the line of the tree to be a bit more to the left so that it doesn't cut the image in half, and the pale green blobs on the right to be less obvious.

    Just a great capture, I have never seen a chick photo.

    Great picture I love it but I also like Richard, would like to see more background and less tree if possible.

    Ditto on toning down the background a bit. Great detail on the subject and conditions well handled. Very well done!
