    As a Mac devotee, I use Aperture - prefer the layout to Lightroom.
    It is inexpensive and offers a fair number of features.
    Apple seems to offer good RAW converters as well for Nikon NEFs.

    I echo the above comments. I am very pleased with Aperture. Many useful plugins are available that will increase its applicability.

    I am glad to see there are others using Aperture. I have been using it since version one. My next question is what is your processing workflow within Aperture?
    I also have the Nik set of plugins as well. Are any of you using these?

    Yes, Aperture 3 is excellent for processing RAW images. I do not even use Photoshop anymore since Aperture.
    Make sure you understand the setting for importing images when you get started. I use referenced setting.
