    Wonderful image!
Very nice job on the exposure, two great poses and head angles, and the shell and sprig of grass serve as the perfect complement!
    Congrats on a real winner!

Comp-wise, I keep thinking I might try taking some off of the left. Normally I wouldn't want to come in any tighter but it feels like the balance is somehow thrown off a bit by the much larger adult.

One of the best images showing interacion between parent and child . Great sharpness , colour , angle !!!
Do you have a wider one where both can be seen fully ?? Would love to see that .

Mike, very nice. What I like the most is the low angle and birds are parallel to the camera. Very good job with exposure and composition. Mike makes a good point about the balance.

    Hey Mike,
Sweet! If yo uhad gotten the entire adult.....the chick gets lost even more. I like this as it really showcases the interaction. Very nicely done!

Super shot. Wonderful interaction, positions of both birds, great low angle and exposure spot on. Love the way the color of the chick matches the sand. I like the comp just as is, although I think it could be just as nice with a small slivver off the left and the bottom. Congrats!

Lovely interaction image. Love the placement of the chick in the frame and the shell is a bonus.
It was a good idea to show only part of the parent, allow the viewer to fucus on the chick, Mike.

For me its the opposite of the suggested crop at left that is needed...if you have it, adding back at right to give the same amount of space between hind leg and right edge as there is between leaf and left edge would give the image the perceived balance it needs. Excellent interaction...the chick is very attentive to the parent's lesson in life

Beautiful! Love the interaction here and the soft background. I find myself wanting for more on the right side or a bit less on the left. Would love to see some alternative crops.

    thanks

I appreciate all your comments and suggestions for alternative crops. The reason I went with this one is two fold. I felt if it was looser I would lose the intimacy between the chick and mom. Secondly, there was a oof bird in the background behind the adults tail and I found it distracting. I will look at taking some off on the left. Thanks again for viewing and taking your time to comment.

The alert chick, shell and plant along could have carried this image, but throw in the adult, and you're completing the story. Love it, Mike. Two tiny things that I could suggest, a slight crop from the bottom, and I see some smudgy things on top of the parent's back that I would fix.
