    Image is from the south west coast of Norway. It was taken early in the morning. It was minus 8 degrees C and little food. Data: EOS 1 D MKL III 500mm F4, 0 L IS 1 / 640 F4, 0 ISO 100 Date: 25 / March 2008

    Great shooting angle, very intimate look. Simple, almost stark image, like the little color added from the kelp? Like the pose of the rear foot.

    I could see lightening the face just a tiny bit. I might also consider a version with a crop up from the bottom of about 1/3 of the foreground.

    Geir,

    Love the low angle & its food clinging to its beak. I would have liked a bit more light on the eye area. Rest everything is fabulous.

    Love the pose and starkness of the image agree with others on a lighting the area around the eye.

    Awesome low angle, and I like the vegetation picking behaviour. I too could see this with less room below, and I would have preferref the heaqd not angled away. Fill-flashed would have helped here IMO.

    The DOF is a killer and the soft light and colours is great !! Subject is sharp and well exposed. A super IMG !
