    Default Loon - no cuteness

I went to the pond I check for loons each year and found only adults. I hope there will be chicks later.
Nothing special for a loon shot - it was just one of those "average" days.

    Taken from my kayak. D300s 300 f/4 with 1.4 tc. 1/1600 f/9 iso 250.

Love the water drops on the head.

It appears a bit too blue toned overall?

If this is an average day for you, I'll take it! Love the subject's angle in the frame and fine detail. I believe that the composition could be improved with a bit off the bottom and I agree with Jim that the color looks off.

Here is a repost - worked on color.
I did not crop from the bottom as that would have left the body too centered. If I corrected that by taking off the top it would be too tight - like the crop as is. Thanks for the suggestion though Grace.

The repost is very nice. Blue cast is gone. I like the angle of body.

Repost takes care of the cast. Very sharp and well exposed. I love the water drop streaks. I too would like to see the loon lower in the frame (take off about 1/3 off the space below, and add it back above if you have it.) The loon would not be too centered as you still have alot more room in front than behind.
