We had the rare combination of fresh wind and early morning light at Giants Castle this week. This guy drifted in and then parachuted down, given us a perfect opportunity, the bird was literally glowing. Photographing this giant bird from a few metres away is pure adrenaline

What a shot Chris. I like how you expose and process images in the warm light. Terrific pose, details, BG...and of course the light. Well done.

    Chris:

To echo Kaustubh, the light is spectacular, the BG is really nice with the radiating streaks on the right.

    Sharp.

I looked several times at the rock on the LLC. I like the concept of an anchor in the frame, and might tinker with how much I include to fine tune that effect. Fine as is, but makes me want to tweak that image component a bit.

    Magic

    Cheers

Thanks for the comments guys. Randy I was between two minds about the rock myself, in the end I decided to leave it in.

It's great to see you posting again Chris! Love the incredible light and the great detail. With regard to the rock, the issue for me is that this is a landing pose but the rock is behind the bird.

Amazing light and details. I'd actually love to see more of the rock rather than just a tiny peak. I love the streaks in the BG.
