Extremely beautiful capture.Marvelous image and color scheme .Nice BG.
Katie, excellent crop and bird angle and relative size of subject in the frame...Flash work is excellent...so are the colors, sharpness, exp. and wing position. I like that there is some tonal variation in the BG.
This is beautiful ,Katie.Sharpness ,HA,posture and complementary bg superb.
Pretty nice work. Amazing detail and sweet BG.

Excellent flight posture Katie, which in turn shows the coloured iridescence nicely. Overall nice and sharp, and against a killer BG. No doubt you were in good hands with Doug and Greg.![]()
Thank you all for your kind comments; yes indeed, Doug and Greg are great mentors!

Well thought out set up. Beautiful subject and a very complimentery BG. Detail ain't bad either.![]()
Holy moly:eek: Fantastic. I do like the tonal variation in the BG but wish it wasn't in front of the bird perhaps.
Great flight angle and like the BG and pose. Nice flash-work...Small hal around the beak, small nit though. Very nice Katie
Hi, Katie. Just happened to be around here and saw this shot. I'm so glad you got one of this species, which, as you remember, was not a common visitor to the setups. I echo the others in saying that everything looks great here. Great choice of which catchlight to leave; you'll remember that having a good high catchlight is the idea behind this lighting scheme.
I thought this was a female coming around, but now that I see your picture, I think it might be a juvenile male as it looks like you can see the start of the magenta throat feathers coming in. If I remember correctly, the female doesn't have any coloration there.
Cheers,
Greg Basco
 Awesome !!! Great sharp detail and IQ. Like the in flight pose and comp. Subject is well exposed with good natural colours against a killer bg. Well done !
