    Default Fledgling Hermit Thrush

Had a wonderful outing at the Mer Bleue Bog trail with my two boys, capped off with an encounter with this very cute, but very vulnerable fledgling Hermit Thrush. The boys even got the opportunity to photograph it themselves! It was quite tame, but looked frightened out in the open on the trail. After a few minutes I was relieved to see it wander back into the thick brush...

Canon 7D + 100-400L @400mm, aperture priority, evaluative metering, 1/100s., f/6.3, ISO 800, +0.7 EC, FF. Some very bright leaves in ULC toned down via burn tool.

P.S. Happy Canada Day to all my fellow canadian BPN members/participants!!

That is sweet, and certainly unusual. Good to see that you have some budding photographers in your family. If they get half your talent, they will be excellent. Happy Canada day to you, Daniel and thanks for sharing this one!

Daniel, excellent shot. The gravel makes it very interesting. You've handled the light very well. Excellent head turn. Well done.

    Happy Canada day to you.

Wonderful detail and I like the composition with the grasses on the left and the diagonal line of the gravel leading off to the upper right. The little guy does look a bit frightened.

Cute little fellow, with a good angled pose. I like the placement of the little fellow, together with the line of the OOF greenery.

A real cutie, Daniel. Love the pose. All the pros and cons have been said already.
