I found an older image of some pretty daytime clouds at the lake but with a boring shoreline. I used PB Oil Paint and Nik Color Efex thermal image filter on it and liked it but I already did that recently on a sunset. I wondered how it would look in black and white. Not that good... but I lowered the opacity of that layer and liked this one as it made the clouds show up a lot more but without vivid colors. And of course very little detail except a bit in the trees. Oh, I used the new free Fhotoroom Dreamy plugin on it to add an "overlay glow". I hope you like it... it is "different".

Hi Judy, I like it a lot! I especially like the glow coming from the trees, very cool. Thanks for sharing your explorations with us. You know we are all about "different".

Judy, This is very different and unique looking. I like the color palette. I find myself wishing the tree area was larger to help ground the bold colors of the sky. Nicely presented and I think you really stepped out of the box-WTG!

Judy, here's your compliment for the day:

I saw the thumbnail and I immediately knew it was yours!

Great use of colors and the soft sweep of the clouds - you're building a name for yourself with this type of processing.

Thanks Julie! I do tend to stick with what I like and feel comfortable with, bold colors and processing. One of these days I'm going to surprise you guys and do something soft and dreamy involving lots of layers and blurs, but don't hold your breath

Judy, this is wild, different, and totally OOTB! Like the intense colors and glow, very interesting to look at, and good for you for experimenting and trying new ideas.

Lovely color and contrast between the light and dark areas. I enjoy your use of bold colors! I like them also. I admire the creativity you exhibit in your post processing!

I think this image might be improved by a slight rotation to make the shoreline a bit more straight, and cropping some off the top. Here is what I have in mind. (I need a little reassurance that doing this was OK. Or, did I step on your toes?)

Thanks Anita! Working with the image is fine, I don't mind at all on any of my images.

I tried to level the image with the small strip of land on the right which was parallel to me, not the closer area which protrudes a bit. Mainly the use of the wide angle causes a distortion problem that just the normal lens correction in Lightroom doesn't fully correct. Your correction probably works better overall.

As to the crop, I tried taking more off the top but I still prefer it with more clouds but I'll take another look at it and tackle the perspective/distortion and do a repost.

We each have different visions for our images!

I failed to ask why you called it "Sensory Deprivation." With that marvelous color, I couldn't figure it out. :2

    Judy,
Great result. You are great with filters. I tried to load Droste on my computer and it was a complete failure. You are the master, Any suggestions. I have PB already.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Thanks so much Steve!

Do you have a PC or a Mac? Did you find the Pixel Bender folder in the application folder, not under plugins, and copy the droste filter there? Did you unzip it first? Just checking. I know people sometimes forget to unzip things!

I have been working on another image to post tonight and haven't opened this one yet!

I called it that because it's like a negative image and only 3 colors with very little detail, compared to what the eye sees. And in Photoshop it had much less color than appears on the forum so it was rather dull. I still can't figure out why the color saturation is boosted so much on the forum. I have posted some that I deleted immediately and went back and lowered the saturation at least 10 points and uploaded them again.

Here is the repost with straightening and cropping some of the sky and then I did a little cloud cloning in the URC to fill in the corner.
