    Default Whales, the big splash!

    This picture was done last week north of Québec at Mingan Island.

    This was done late in the afternoon wit the perfect light. We were also lucky having them jumping out of the water so close from our small boat!

    You can see her baby in the back.

    I was with the Nikon D700 with the 70-200 and trust me there is no crop!

    looks slightly darker to me but very well done in freezing the moment

    Nice light. I like the contrast between the still waters and the splash off the fin.

    Hi Patrice...great moment! It can certainly use some "opening up" of the darker tones in the image but well captured. I would have liked to see a vertical, and know that in this type of action one would probably hold the camera in "landscape" orientation anyway - so how about a vertical crop from the full resolution file for comparison?
