    I captured this guy calling in a pond at the edge of San Francisco Bay. The background is pickleweed.

    Yup...sharp, wonderful pose, and full of detail. The camera angle helps to draw us in as well.

    This is a killer image, Aidan. It is nice and sharp. Love the BG and a nice calling pose. Your comp/crop is right on the money.

    Tack sharp Aidan, and well timed to get the open bill. I do like the exposure and colours on the avocet, and against a lovely smooth BG. No one has mentioned it, but I would run a touch more NR on the BG.
