I finally got my 1d2 back from repairs from Canon so I immediately went out to shoot. I am quite pleased with this shot but I want to hear from the pros. So here it is, "Crash Landing".

    Taken at 1/4000 at f/5.6 and iso:400

Nice wing position and nice action,I would prefer better eye contact

    Brian,

Action and sharpness is good, and the cropping fits nicely.

The image has 2 problems, the side of the bird is toasted (zero detail) and the birds eyes cant be seen.

    HB is my old backyard!

Nice wing position and droplets. I agree with the comments above regarding whites and eye contact.

    Does this version seem better?
This version is without any lightening and with a different WB.
I actually like this one better. How about you guys?

Wonderful action you captured in this image Brian and I like the second post better but it does appear that the light was a tad harsh which makes it so difficult to get detail in the whites. Love the waterdroplet action !!! thanks for sharing.

Nice splash and action but the white sides are well over-exposed... You need to try to recover detail in the whites during conversion... Techniques vary depending on what program you use to convert.

    later and love, artie
