Unfortunately I'm not getting much time for photography this year - but I did manage to spend two mornings in the hide at Giants Castle. Fortunately we had wind the second morning, and this magnificent specimen graced us with a visit

    Chris,

Gotta love this one. DOF is superb, and sharp as a tack.

What a lovely image. The head angle and visible beard really take this picture to another level. The light is so nice and the details on the wings excellent. I like the layeredhorizontal repeating lines in the wings and tail that really make the pano crop work well and gives a real sense of forward motion. I would hang this one on my wall!

Chris, the light looks good, and I like the overall colours and detail. Good eye contact, and soaring against a great GC BG.

Great light and the quality of the image is outstanding. Very interesting wing position so different o the same poses we see over and over from GC...Seems like everyone wants the incoming pose with wings spread ready for landing. I think thats what makes this image more interesting. Like the more pano crop as well...Very high quality image Chris

Thanks Dumay. I agree that GC is a great place, but there are so many top quality images of birds landing, perhaps the challenge these days is to try and be a little bit more creative (?)
