I liked the random bits of color in the back ground.
    From my blog post today...

Sometimes I find myself staring at my images wondering which ones should I keep? Sound familiar?? I am often torn between two images; the “technically better” image does not always win. Many times as photographers we get caught up with the technical side of photography, making sure that our subjects are well exposed and sharp. We often lose track of the emotional connection that we and others may have with an image. One of the first things I do while editing my files is look over the images briefly; if one jumps out at me I’ll keep it of course , but it’s the images that teeter on the border that I am talking about now- you know the ones that have some flaws but for some reason make you smile. Those images may very well be worth a second look. If you find yourself having a connection with an image then chances are that someone else will too. For me it’s about that connection. This image was one of those “finger on the delete key” images, but I liked the way that the two leaves seemed to be holding hands.

I really like the connection between the leaves "holding hands", the almost solid color background and the subtle fract works. Very nice and it looks like a keeper to me.

Love the light showing through the leaves Denise, which in turn shows up the detail. Love the overall colours, and the little bits in the BG add interest. Your introduction couldnt be more applicable to most of us.

Great job, Denise, just the right touch with the frac filter. Like the rich colors and details on the leaves, and they do look like they are holding hands. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. I agree about giving your borderline images a second chance, and that's what is so great about OOTB! I have salvaged quite a few borderline images here.

Completely agree with you on the communication part 100%. The ability to share online and creatively communicate ideas and emotions with our images really helps us all to connect with each other in a very down to earth way. Taking time to enjoy & share the natural beauty around us really helps you to appreciate life so much more. Turning off the TV news helps too!

Excellent composition, Denise. Love the light coming through the leaves and the fract really enhances it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and showing how it can be different...

Denise, I like it! Very sentimental. I couldn't agree more, to take the time and enjoy what most other miss. Well done!

I completely agree with Brendan's comment. Thanks for sharing your thought process.

This looks like a perfect fall image. The white bg with a few blurred leaves works beautifully. Great graphic design.

Denise, I'm so glad you kept this one as it was destined to become this lovely image. There's really a lot going on - a story, nice processing, strong composition. I love the way Fractalius merged the two leaves into one, that really strengthens the story aspect.

I am really bad about deleting images and keep way too many. Many times I have gone back over some and decided to give it another chance. I really do need to do some deleting though...
