Going through my files from Grand Teton I came across this series of dead tree images that I took while waiting for for a Moose to come out on Moose Wilson Road. I placed the slanted small tree in the ROT position with my crop. I did a B&W conversion in Nik Silver Efex and then added some details with the help of Topaz Adjust. I added some snow.

This is awesome, Denise. Love the desolate mood as presented. Adding the small slanted tree was OOTB thinking... really transformed the composition. Love the color and the texture. Another excellent subject for this week's theme. Nicely processed.

That slanted tree adds tension and interest to this image. Just the right amount of in-camera blur. The wonderful processing brings out the mood. Very nice!

Denise, this reminds me a lot of my youth (I did have one!) in Indiana. I think the title describes winter in the rural farm country there pretty well. Very nice blur and feel.

I love the soft subtle moody way this communicates desolation, Denise. Kind of dreary but at the same time, the subtle tonal variations and patterns are very tasty for the eye to take in. The leaning tree and snow are a very nice touch, and the darker patch on rt. adds interest without distracting. This is minor, but wishing to see just a little more of the snow, and wonder if darkening the shadows just a bit would help bring that out more. Nicely done and pano works well.

A lovely, imaginative creation from simplicity. Treatment is very nice, and I agree with Anita, that the one tree with the most lean to it adds the perfect amount tension to the image.
