I wish you guys could see this full screen on a 30 inch monitor. The jpeg robs the detail (the wing edges against snow). This was a tough one to process with all the tones of white to gray. I was happy to get this striking bird in flight. I just uploaded a few new images to my favorites page: http://bit.ly/dV2tuX

I wish there was more contrast between the back of the wings and the background. An absolutely stunning image beyond that!

Try duplicating the layer, and changing the blending to linear burn with opacity set to around 10-20%, then slide the dark sliders at bottom over to keep from applying to the darker back....

You'll get the background separation people desire

    Always enjoy your work!
    Best regards

I want one!!! You could post at 1024 pixels wide to give us a better sense of the detail, which looks pretty good as posted.

I think it is stunning and the BW presentation works perfectly for me on this image

Wing spread and eye contact is excellent..

Hey Jim, and others. FYI: This is not a B & W image. Not much color with the bird being mostly black and white and the snow being white, but you can see some rufus on the back. just wanted to make sure viewers knew I did not convert it to B & W. Thanks.

Alan, your top-view flight shots are quite awesome. This must have been so hard to capture. perfect wing position and exposure. Details stunning as usual.

would love to see it at 1024-pixels wide.

Great details Alan. I would like to see a repost with the separation from BGD like mentioned earlier.
