really nice shot ...
Would like to have seen what the Lion was actually roaring at Rudi and perhaps have done for a wider shot?
Looks like there is some movement in the image as it's not quite sharp, would suggest upping your iSO to get more shutter speed as the 7D can take it. If you can add a bit more detail (words) about the shot etc next time that would be great.

Hi Rudi
welcome,
.. I am afraid you will have to give me more of a teaser than this...See the whole series on my website!
the composition doesnt really work , needs more room top and bottom . too much clutter around the paw for the movement to have impact,
the lions eye is too dark might be due to sharpening process, also the blacks around mouth need pulling back a bit...
look forward to seeing the whole series here![]()

ditto a slight motion blur to the image due to a slow shutter speed, upping the iso or using a wider aperture would have helped![]()
Congrats on launching your new website Rudi...and good to see you posting here (happy birthday too!).
Would love to have more background on this image? What was going on?
It's a pity that the face isn't critically sharp, as I don't mind the motion blur in the foot and body - gives a nice sense of motion.
I'd have no qualms pumping the 7D ISO to 800 and even 1600 if the light is decent to obtain better shutter speeds.![]()
nice one and agreed with comments above

With the mane flowing back the way it is and the blur of the paw, one gets a sense that this is guy is moving quick. Without the rest of the body however, there's a slight doubt on whether or not he's maybe just lunging rather than running. I'm okay with the level of sharpness, just want to see more of the body.
Very dramatic! Like the outstretched leg.
I love the intensity in this image. Outstanding capture.

Hi Rudi, great capture; I would like to see a little more contrast.
Please post the link to the series on your website.
