I captured this image earlier this month at Viera Wetlands. I would have preferred to have a lower angle but the reeds at the edge of the water were pretty tall.

This is my first encounter with this species and I believe it is a lesser scaup. Please correct me if I have misidentified this duck.

Canon 1D MIII, 500mm with 1.4x, Gitzo tripod and Wimberley head
    ISO 400, 1/1000, f/5.6, +1 exp comp, AV mode

    Slightly cropped from bottom.

    Comments and suggestions are welcomed.

    Hi Lori,
Love your duck, great composition, colors and the water is beautifull. Like the eye contact.

    Congrats...:D

Lovely capture Lori and a nice pose and eye contact. Good detail and well framed. My only wish would have been for a slightly lower angle if that was possible. Otherwise very fine capture.

Lori good image and reflection. You've mentioned the low angle challenge yourself.
