Default Foggy Morning at Dennis Creek

I was shooting some old boats on a foggy morning and turned around to see this image (we've all done that, right?). At any rate, it wasn't a great exposure and it blew out the sun in the fog. I applied a gauzzien blur to help bring down the banding around the sun and masked off some of the lower area of the creek. Cropped up from the bottom as it seemed to be a bit of dead space. Thoughts and guideance?

Dave, Nice capture. I might try to bring down the levels just a bit more in the sun and reflected sun if it were mine and maybe a sliver more room on top. Nice feel to this and the moody tones are striking!

I like this, Dave! At first glance I thought it was very nice but then felt my eye wanting a small patch of land to rest on since everything is so blurred. Might try to back off the blur at the grass clump on the middle right side and see if that does the trick.

Beautiful tones in this...what a peaceful feeling!

Very nice, Dave. I like the mood you have captured. I can see what Julie is suggesting... one of the ways you could do that by selecting the grass clump using quick mask, inverse and refine edge/feather and copy to new layer, darken/change opacity to make it more prominent. Nice processing.

Really like the fog and mood of this, Dave. Nicely seen and captured, some good suggestions above to make it even stronger. Nice one!

    Nice image and application, Dave.

Isn't it always true the the best images are behind us!!! We need to turn around a bit more!

Don't know if you have Topaz, but their new LensEffects has some good aplications that might be of interest with this image. ND is one that I have used to modify the density of areas of the image. It is worth the price of the program alone.

Thanks everyone, some nice thoughts here to explore. Mark, I do have most of the Topaz offerings but sadly LensEffects is not one of them. Time to take a look
