Good preening pose. I would crop to take the OOF rocks out and give the bird a bit more room to the right and left if you have it. . Lovely BG and very pretty rocks add to the image.

You have a lovely capture here, Jonathan. I like the environmental feel with the rocks all around, and the colors of the rocks match well with the preening bird. I think I would leave it as is. Nice low angle.

Lovely shooting angle. DOF is great and the complimentary colors of the surroundings and the bird work nicely! Nice one Jonathan

    Jonathan,
Please disregard my comment about adding more room all around. I was viewing your picture on a computer at work and I didn't realize I had to scroll picture to the right to see the rest of shot!

Gail, you are supposed to be working, not viewing BPN during working hours.

Jonathan, Good low angle, and I would take off the extra bit at the bottom. Good DOF effect. I too like the surrounding pebbles.

I too like the preening pose and the pebbly environment...excpet for the one large bright one directly below the subject. Nice comp, well done.

I like this crop as presented. Very nice environment, low angle of course, exp. Light is hitting the face very nicely.

Very nice image as noted from others.

The rocky pasted environment really works well with this bird

Thanks for the C&C everyone - much appreciated. As soon as I downloaded the images the first thing that caught my eye was the large white stone. Unfortunately the majority of the more interesting images I captured had the large white stone immediately beneath the ringed plover.
