This was a big enough fella - its' body (not including the legs) was about the size of my closed fist...and I know they get even bigger!! At first I was not going to take its picture as the setting was no so pleasing, but then it moved to a better area and started croaking...and the water vibrated around it as a result of it. Pretty cool! Of course I had to lie down in the muck to get a more intimate view :-) Notice the fly...I think it got the best view of all! Now, when I got all setup, it only croaked once every couple of minutes...I had to get my timing right, all the while fighting off darn mosquitos (they are swarming in bigger numbers than usual thanks to the very damp spring we got). Apart from a bit of poison ivy on my elbow I think this was worth it...the things we'll do for an image, even for a common subject!

He looks pleased with himself and I like the way the blades of grass have framed him. Cool water vibration and great reflection as well.
The vibrant greens & yellows of the frog really stand out against the almost monochromatic colour of the water. I just wonder, although you would lose the central theme, if you were to crop the grass stem coming in from the left if it helped the composition, or even to the point to include in the crop the grey shadow too. so you lose about half an inch on the LHS?
