Hand held from my Kayak, I seldom see these around my area, it was nice to finally capture one in flight (sorta)

    C&C is always appreciated
    Thanks for looking and commenting

Great action captured here, Chad. It is me or that right foot looks larger than the left?

    Beautiful Shot Chad
Love the action,DOF ,detail, great job! Wondering about a bit more canvas in front for him to run into?
Stay steady in the kayak, that's a lot of $$ to get wet

Excellent timing and fine details, I especially like the position of the right foot.

This capture really works, Chad. Love the feet, water spray, color of the water, but the way the light is hitting the bird really makes this one work for me. I have been trying to capture this action for 3 winters now...unsuccessfully. I guess I have to concentrate a little harder next season.

Great action captured of what a coot does best - running across water, probably chasing another coot. The low level from your kayak looks good, and the coot is separated nicely from the BG.

Great action shot, Chad! Like the pose, great exposure, and it's nice to see the lighter underwing detail of these guys, as they are so dark on top. I see these guys scooting across the surface like this at my local lake, but have yet to get a good capture. Nice BG and framing!

Nice capture Chad. The blurred BGD is nice. I agree with some that the bird may be too centered, I'd add canvas in front, crop out from behind maybe ? Celery Farm and DeKorte Park usually have these during migration.

Wonderful action, great pose and angle, nice detail. I hope you have a stable kayak; seeing action like this would be enough to get me excited and lean out too far with the big lens.
