    Default Peak-A-Boo!

This little chick was so cute. Getting a little too big to sleep under mom but she eventually was able to get under for a little nap.

I really like this one Noelle.
Nice and sharp and the grass in the background really adds to this for me. They even picked a open and fairly clean spot for you

If you don't mind, what was your focal length, and is this much of a crop? Reason I ask is I am surprised that you got this much DOF @ 5.6 at what I am assuming was 500mm or better.

    Thanks Neil!

Sorry, I forgot to add my focal length. I will edit and add that. 500mm + 1.4TC (700mm)

Also, I should mention they did not pick such a clean spot, I had a little mess of sticks to deal with.

I am not good on judging crops but I would have to say 30-40%

Good for you getting an a cute and unique type of pose, Noelle. Like the interaction, eye contact, great low angle, nice light, and the little bit of vegitation near them adds interest.
    Well done!

I really like the environmental feel of this capture and the intimacy of the two. The vegetation really adds something special to the capture, as does the behavior. I think you did well considering your light wasn't great. I see a catchlight in the chick's eye, and this really helps the image.

Noelle, excellent exposure on the OC, and you have brought out the detail nicely. Good low angle, and I like how the juvie is peeking from under mom. I too like the inclusion of the foliage.

    Hi Noelle,
I am late to the party on this image. I love the interaction portrayed by Mom and baby and love the baby's little eye. You did a great job cleaning up the beach. I can't tell there was any PP'ing done. Nice low angle and light. The bit of grass in front of Mom really adds to the shot.
