    Default Egret-scape #2

I'm becoming more and more interested in including significant elements of habitat in some of my bird images. Here is an example. The layers from bottom to top are rocky beach, grasses, woods, sky. I may trim this from the left a bit and am not sure if the water droplets from his feet add anything. Will be interested in opinions.

I like the inclusion of the habitat. The water droplets could be removed in my opinion. The image is nice and sharp and looks great. I like the idea of trimming it abit to move it away from center. Nice shot!

Hi Grace, good wing position, with good underwing detail from the near wing. As this is a take off shot, I would probably remove the rocky layer of the BG below, and take a bit off the left. I would definately leave the droplets. The inclusion of the habitat works for me, as the egret is separated well away from the surrounding habitat.

I too like the habitat, but I would trim about half the thickness of the beach layer as it draws my eye. You could also add a bit back above for the treetops which are a bit close to the edge (I love those trees!). Good flight pose, and nice details on the near wing!

Grace, agree with the composition stuff above.

white looks good...excellent angle on the bird with the light hitting it square. good BG separation and DOF coverage...well done. Excellent low warm light.

Great exposure control Grace. The water drops add a lot.
