These 2 took a little rest which allowed me this portrait of them together. I just love to see how relaxed they look. The chick was 4 days old here. I cleaned up a dark spot in the URC, and cropped from horizontal to vertical. Could give it more room without adding canvas.

Great Shot Marina. I love the softness and colors. Everything looks bang on. It amazes me that the little one will grow into that bill...LOL.

That's a super sweet image, Marina. I love the size difference between the two birds, and that they're facing each other (while give you a perfect head angle). Perfect exposure, simple background, and low angle all add to the impact of this photo. The image feels cropped just a wee bit tight for my taste.

Very nice interaction shot you captured, Marina. Nice relaxed, tender moment, and like soft light, color, exposure, and vertical composition. Agree, maybe just a tad more room on either side. Nicely done!

Oh Marina you have captured a special moment for sure , love the raised foot on the ma ma, I just with the chick was a tad forward more putting that little one in the focus line, the little one seems a tad soft.

Well composed Marina, and just love mom's raised leg. The little guy is so fluffy, and the pastel colour of the BG works well. An opportunity well used.

Beautiful capture Marina. I love the HA's on both birds, and the clean smooth BGD is sweet too. I may just like a tad more room all around like mentioned earlier, otherwise not much to critique from me.

Everything looks wonderful, Marina, from the exposure to the sharpness. Having a parent and young chick together is not easy to accomplish, an that is what I like most about this image.

Love the moment, the low angle, the great head angle. I just wish the baby was a bit sharper focus. Minor nit though,

Terrific shot great timing, the chick is a tad soft but I don't think it really matters. I too vote for a little more space all round.

    Wonderful.
What time of the year do the O.Catcher chicks hatch?
    Thanks.

I think this might work well in landscape with the mother sitting on the rt 1/3 line.
As is it's a very nice picture, just a bit tight on the sides.

So sweet! Baby looks a bit soft though. A bit less shutter speed and smaller aperture could have been great.

It's difficult enough to get a parent and chick together; shooting a parent and chick facing each other is even tougher. The chick is soft, more than his natural fluffiness would warrant. The black piece of something below the parent is a bit distracting; as the beach is otherwise clean, removing the black piece would not be a major violation of the spirit of the scene.

    Hi from SEA,

Very lovely shot for sure...while the chick is soft, I wish this was mine. :)
