This was taken at Andrew Haydon Park in Ottawa, Ontario. It was sitting on top of a post allowing me to get a nice colorful background (at least I think so ).

Beautiful gull portrait, Jeff, love that eye and great colors, detail, nice and sharp. Beautiful soft BG colors contrast nicely with subject. The whites feel a bit bright due to bright light, but not blown. There is a blue cast on the shadow along the chest which can probably be removed with selective desaturation. Very nicely done!

Jeff, you have every colour in the rainbow in that BG, so you did position yourself nicely. I like the multi layers, but would maybe desat the blue a touch. Good job on the whites, they are not blown, but just a bit too much in brightness. I really like the red eye ring, the eye, and detail on the beak.

Very nice indeed. very good exposure, IQ and shooting angle. BG makes a big difference. Well done.

Nice portrait Jeff, the bird is sharp with a nice catchlight in it's eye. The colors in the BGD are nice, but desaturating the blue and maybe the green may soften them a tad. I agree with Stuart that the whites could be micro adjusted less bright, maybe reducing contrast to soften the beak shadowline/ chest shadow.

Very nice portrait. Whites a bit bright but easy to fix as they do not appear blown. Love the BG and composition.
