This one is just for fun and to share, as it was softened a bit from the original.
The look these siblings gave each other just floored me when I saw it!

Super cute. I love the symmetry how they are looking at each other and the reflection.

Terrific shot, Brendan. I love the looks, and the super low angle. I'd be curious to know what your PP workflow consists of. Many of your images have a certain identifiable look; and while this one is not as pronounced as, say, your recent Coot chicks, there is a bit of the same appearance to the feathers, as if some kind of a filter was used.

    Hi Brendan,

Great image with the two ducks looking at each other. Beautiful soft light. I like the panoramic view and great reflections. Well done.

Beyond stunning! Looks like a painting. The crop is perfect. And so is the image quality. What gear and where?

Love the painterly look with good detail presented and the low angel of capture. The pose of the two duck turning into one another gave me a sense of interaction between the two. Very nicely done.

very cute, however I would like to see the natural version without the PS artwork. This is appealing too but perhaps better for the OOTB or the digital forums.

Thanks everyone for your comments, much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks Bill, Yes, I did use Pixel Bender Oil to soften the image a bit. I always use Artie's Digital Basics for my PP workflow. I also used a surface blur on the BG, another tip Artie provided on his blog.

A surface blur was also used on the BG on this Brown Pelican capture but no Pixel Bender:

I normally do post in OOTB when doing photo art type stuff, and for the most part just use ACR and PP adjustments when posting in Avian. I realize that this is the best way to improve in both areas. This was just for fun and to share with a different crowd!

Brendan, this image is lovely, and I can see it printed and framed on a wall . I love the interaction you captured and yes your processing is better suited for OOTB but I don't visit that forum as much, so thanks for sharing your creativity here with us.

This is a charming, almost perfect image with a very artistic feel. And whatever you did post-processing would also wow the viewers of the Out Of The Box forum. You might consider also posting it there.

    Thanks guys, much appreciated.

I already know what the issues were with the OP, so that's why I didn't post it.
It was not a large crop, but It was taken in early morning and a bit underexposed and a tad off from being tack sharp. Certain areas of the feathers just didn't hold up no matter how I approached sharpening. Did NR on bills and eyes, but you can't do NR on fine downy feathers like this, and still have good sharpness.

Brendan, this looks great. Both head angles are perfect. I 'm glad you shared on this forum as I'm not on the others as much. TFS

Love the low angle and similar poses, and the central placement works well. Good reflections captured too.

With regards to the original, I would like you to give it your best shot and process it, remembering that these little guys plumage do not need to be 'sharp'
