    These beauties perch in the trees then fly onto the flat as it forms to fish. My goal last night was to photograph this as the sky was pretty with some hints of pink.

    1dmk4, Canon 500 f4 + tripod
    Sunny 16 exposure, no compenation

    Hi Grace,
    The whites are great and I can see the hint of pink in the sky. I might try to increase the pinks if they were more prominent in real life. I might also crop just a bit tighter all around. I like the trees in RH corner as it grounds the eye a bit. Well done,

    Beautiful light and sky, perfect exposure, excellent detail, and great composition (inclusion of the tree is a big plus)!

    Grace, I like this one. The topside view is lovely. Great exposure and composition. I like the extra room and the inclusion of the tree.

    Grace, good banking angle, and lovely light to show the whites nicely. As you posted the comp as is, Im fine with the placement of the egret. I can see a variety of different comps. The pinkish clouds add a lot to the sky BG.

    Love this flying pose with the top side view...great exposure too.
