Here is one from my current project on Little Owls.

This image was taken early one morning to ensure that I had some light in the eyes of the Owl. Having visited this site frequently at dawn and dusk it soon became apparent that the mornings offered the best light.

I have several more images from this project HERE for those that are interested.

    Canon 1DMK4, 800mm, f9, 1/1000 ISO 800

    C&C welcome.

    Cheers

    Austin

    Nice!!

How can I possibly C&C this.... it tells such a great story!

He looks like he could be a Father To Be in the waiting room pacing.

I am sure there can be many story lines for this image.

    Well done!!

    Very cool!
Great action pose, lovely BG, and excellent detail!

As presented, might take a bit off the top.

Appealing perspective and capture of the bird's motion.
Had you considered taking a little off the top? I'm visualizing the image
missing half the distance from the top of the owl's head perhaps
balancing the sliver of terra firma.

I like the comp as is. I love the walk, and it looks like it has its hands behind its back while pacing as it waits for little owlet that is way passed curfew!!

This guy looks rather similar to the New World's Burrowing Owls...does it also nest in holes in the ground?

This is fantastic, Austin! Amazing capture, IQ, love that eye, color, comp, and pose has lots of personality. Looks like an english nobleman wearing coattails, marching steadfast, very determined! Way to study the location and determine ideal time & position. Very well done!

Another winner Austin. Everyone has said it all. I love a picture that makes me smile. Great feeling image. It looks like he is pacing or marching with his hands behind his back,

Love this shot! The pose and caption are awesome. Excellent BG and sharpness and the eyes give the facial expression of much seriousness. Well done.

Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated.

@Daniel. No. They typically nest in hollows high up in tree trunks, or in farm buildings.

    Cheers

Austin, you've frozen it mid-stride perfectly. Shooting angle and the Bg have done the rest. I also think the subject placement is perfect. What a shot!

I really like the raised foot & the hooded eye. It looks like an owl on a mission.
