    Another from morning session at La Jolla back in January. ACR, CS5, added some canvas above, cropped out some other birds below, added surface blur on BG, and a bit of saturation.

    Got to love this pose. Sharp, awesome light. diagonal if the frame is pretty cool.

    I love pelicans!! They can look so goofy at times

    Noelle, I agree, pelicans are so odd looking and goofy at times. They really have a lot of personality and charm and make great subjects. I have this one shot where three of them are leaning against eachother, taking a siesta, all sound asleep.

    Tell Mathew thanks, I like those kooky eyes too! I'm sure he will be an excellent editor for your children's book.

    I really like the twisted flying posture, and the pelican pops so well. Good DOF, sharp, and I like the blue of the water.

    Another really nice one, you are on a roll with these guys.
    I like the crop better on this one and the pose is pretty wild.

    Brendan, the eyes are mesmerizing here, the sharpness and contact. Amazing detail overall and sweet light. I love pelicans so much and this is a stunner of a portrait.
