Christopher, could you have moved a few steps to your right? I am fine with the large perch(lichen and moss are nice) and the size of the subject in the frame....but the rock on the right is a big issue.

If you select just the bird and perch rock, and darken the shadows a bit, it will apear sharper.

Chris, well timed to capture the flying ant infront of the owl. He sure is interested. I agree with Kaustubh that moving to your right would have helped not having the concrete blocks in the BG. I hope you dont mind, I came up with a different comp, working with what I had. Changed to vertical, and run some NR on the BG, and blurred the concrete blocks.

Chris, this is a very nice little owl. I like this image!

I like Stuarts crop and Kaustubh's suggestions.

We are all so self-critical! I find this image to be compelling, interesting, and pretty and I LOVE Stuart's crop. I would also prepare a version without the bug because I feel that it takes away just a bit from those wonderful owl eyes. Although I know that was not the story that you are telling here. Thanks for sharing it, and congrats on the publicity.

thanks everybody for your comments, pleasently surprised,Kaustubh,I could not move to the right,I was already as far right as I could go,Stuart I like what you have done with my image, the concrete blocks, are not concrete, they are sandstone, the same as what the owl is perched on,but the difference is,they have been quarred, shaped and worked on by man.Grace, and Gail thanks for your comments.
