From Little Estero last week. I am curious about the feed back from the forum on this one, as I was laying on the sand trying to get the shot before they finished their romance I thought I had a very good picture, when I got home and loaded the picture on the computer I was a little disapointed.
So please let me know what you think.

    Adams,

Sometimes it is hard to see the OOF stuff in the FG. If the OOF look was uniform across the bottom like it is under your name, I think it would look good. But it gets heavy/large in the middle and then tappers off again on the left. That draws my eye from the birds somewhat. The action is great however. I have never seen these birds mate.

You have quite an interresting subject to start with. Understanding what was going on, we understand that it was very difficult to have the two heads parallel to the frame. The background color adds to the mood and the framing is well done. I would try 2 things:
    1) chang the color temperature to make it warmer
    2) try to clone out some of the dead grass that is out of focus around the birds

Hey Adams, I absolutely love it. If you are disappointed, please do send me the RAW file.

Heck, the birds live and nest in grasses. You have captured the essence of the act. The faces of both the male and the female are priceless. later and love, artie

Nice interaction, I agree with you the OOF foreground is a bit distracting. Sometimes it is hard to avoid when getting a great low angle.

It is absolute precious to me. I purposely place OOF grass in front of my subjects when available, so to me, is just right. Never seen this behavior in them either. You get the cigar!
