    Default Waterbuck ram.

Found myself a little short of room on the bottom once I straightened the horizon .
At least the lighting conditions were in my favour.

Details look good on the waterbuck, and I really like this male's strong stance. Good catchlight in his eye. Noted your space issue below. Nicely done here using just enough dof for subject, and you did well to blur out much of the BG detail...some may find the oof tree in the bg a bit of a distraction, I am in two minds myself.
    Thanks for sharing

    Hi Marc

I agree with your own assessment on the space.. needs some top and bottom, agree with Grant on the OOF tree. I find the blue patches above horns pulls the eye as well..

great light and detail on the waterbuck but the BKG and space lets the image down a bit...

Super pose from the waterbuck Marc, good detail throughout, and separated nicely from the BG.

Agree with the above comment re space and OOF tree. But this is a tough subject to get an interesting image of... I think its pretty appealing!

I like the image, good detail and the waterbuck in the open is nice. I would have prefered more space though!

I've only seen these guys here on the forum but this one looks to be an especially healthy and good looking specimen. Really nice detail and I like the darker trees in the BG. Might try darkening the tree trunk a bit.

Hi Marc, good looking specimen in prime condition.

Can you remember if the hide was wet, the only reason I ask is that looking at it, it just has that feel/look about it, perhaps amplified by the darker hairs. Would agree on the tree in the BG that both Grant & Peter comment on and if you had a mind to, quite simple to remade. I can sympathise about lack of space when you have to slightly rotate, as this has happened to me a few time too, bugger.

Marc - Nice comp, pose and light. I agree with your self-assessment about the room below. I don't mind the oof tree.

Marc, great light on a frequently neglected antelope...
the space noted, I don't mind the tree that much
I particularly like the contrast here.
