Super flight shot Subbu! I don't think you could get a more dynamic pose than this one. And your sharpness is fantastic from the tip of the tail feathers all the way to the tip of the beak. Great eye contact and a nice open beak. I might go vertical with this image, adding a bit of canvas to the top and bottom of the frame. I like vertical here because it keeps the bird large in the frame as you increase your canvas size at the top and bottom. I think the wings could stand a bit of noise reduction, but overall an excellent image!

Good to see you back. This image is so sharp and colorful with a lovely arched pose, complimentary back ground. I look forward to more of your images. Thank you for sharing.

That's a fabulous action pose, Subbu.

The colors are wonderful, and the image sharpness almost makes it sparkle.

This isn't a criticism of the presentation, as it's excellent as-is. But I find myself wondering how it would look in a vertical format.

Welcome back, and thanks for posting such a compelling image.

Terrific pose and sharpness. You nailed the focus.
The open beak, the blue tail in full display and the dynamic pose make this a killer image.
+1 to a vertical comp with more room above and below.
    Great job.

    Subbu,

Fantastic image! Congratulations. My first thought was also a vertical presentation. Is this a crop or full frame? If full frame, I would leave it as is. If a crop, I would try a vertical crop.

Fantastic pose and very sharp! Judging by the noise and lack of fine detail I assume this is a significant crop. In this case I join the others who suggested a vertical crop.

    Dear All,

Thanks for your comments and suggestions. This is actually 70% of the actual frame (30% crop). Here comes the Vertical Crop and some more space around the bird. Please do let me know if this suites your taste buds..

    Subbu

Composition in the repost is awesome! IQ is still not great with very little fine detail and quite a bit of noise.

Subbu, I know how fast these guys can fly, so well done on getting this in the frame. Super flying posture, open beak, and the colours look spot on. I do agree with the others that there is noise visible on the wings. You repost works very well.

I disagree with your comment Ofer... The more I look at this image the more "fine detail" I can see, I wonder and question your thoughts on saying that there is very little fine detail, especially when I look in the green area of the wing feathers..

Questions for OP... I use to own a Mark III, When I shot this camera at ISO 800 the images are very acceptable/superior comparably to any other camera "so long as the image didn't need to be brought up in exposure" as soon as you popped the exposure more than 1/2 to 3/4 stop the noise became more evident. I would be curious to see a 100% crop from the OP of this image and to know if you did in fact bring the exposure up in post.

    This image ROCKS!

I would love to see a 100% crop of the head so we can see whether the fine detail are there as to my aging eyes they are not there...
