Default American Goldfinch enjoying the rain.

Taken in May, just before the blooms opened...and before the 7D came along. I was in my second storey spare bedroom / computer room, which has a great view of this crab apple tree. I opened a window and tried to use audio to see if goldfinches respond (I hadn't tried in on them yet). Yes, they do respond. I should have composed wider to include the full twig at top edge, but I like the rainy spring day feel...

I like the environment and the rain drops, I am not seeing fine feather details in the yellows, maybe because of small presentation size.

Killer head angle plus the one big drop. The sharper berries alongside of the tail and the one below draw my eye.... Yellow feather detail looks at least OK to me. Wish for a bit more room above the top right spray of berries.

Very nice comp Daniel! Your finch gave you a sweet look.

I like the details on the back of this bird very much. Something you do not see that often, at least for me.

The raindrops add a very nice touch.

I am not crazy about the color mixture though and I know this is a personal preference. To me the crab apple colors are so pretty on their own that they compete with the pretty bird.

After looking at this for a few minutes, I really love it. Lots of interest, lots to compete with the subject, yet my eye always ends up right on the lovely bird. I suspect that this would look wonderful in a larger size.

Nice mood to this frame and that head turn makes the image for me:)

Lots of colours to like in this, and I like the inclusion of the falling rain, and remaining droplets on the foliage. The detail of the yellows look fine from here, and the little guy stands out so well from the surrounding BG colours.

I really like the saturation, the falling rain & the water droplets in this image. Oh Yeah, the goldfinch is great too with the look back & back side view. Well done.

Superb shot, I like everything, composition and pose coupled with the rain make this a winner. I have refelcted upon Arties comment - i.e. a little more space above the berries - I agree. It seems such a minor consideration but I think it will make a significant difference.

Nice head angle and good sharpness. You made the most of a rainy day; the droplets add a lot to the image. My eye is drawn to the berries behind and along the tail feathers.
