In April 2011, we were lucky enough to come across a small colony of meerkats (suricates) in the Mountain Zebra National Park, South Africa. They were right next to the road, and for this shot I still had the 1.4x TC on my 300mm lens. I removed the converter shortly hereafter for more flexibility in composition.

    Techs:
    Canon 7D with 300mm f2.8 L IS USM + 1.4xTC-II (420mm)
    f4.5 @ 1/1250 SS @ ISO-800

Nice one Morkel, like the detail on the fur, the oof bg, and also the second suricate that is standing in the BG, with paws held in the same position...Good sharp results here from the prime lens and TC combination. This shot works for me...

I like the detail in this image Morkel; especially the claws & eyes. Well captured.

You've got that 300 performing nicely here Morkel, love the expression, lighting and detail, the rear mirrored pose is an added bonus.

Nice detail, light, and pose here Morkel. The OOF one in the BG is just OOF enough to not be a distraction but still be identifiable.

Nice one Morkel, I knew you would love that lens. Like the catchlight and good detail where it counts.

Beautiful capture, Morkel, I love these guys! Next to lemurs, they are one of my favorite animals to watch. Love how they stand watch for eachother.
