Hi folks, hope you're all well.

Long time no see Mitch, I hope you are well...I saw this on Earthshots today, congrats :)
Would love to experience this one day. I love the sense of place you get here, and the low angle and behaviour (and of course subject matter) makes it a treat to view. This guy looks like he should back down from eating too much of that stuff, nice and chubby![]()
Hi Morkel, long time no speak indeed :) I always feel guilty when I'm so quiet but life really gets crazy for me a lot of the time. Hopefully I'll be a bit more regular from now on, I always find winter a good time to play catch up and I really have some catching up to do this winter :)
Hope you manage to plan your way across to Rwanda one day, you'll love it, for me it was such a special experience that I did not even want to share the images until now.
Congrats on Earthshots. Nice comp and behavior. I'd like to see this at 1024 across.
TFS,
Rachel
Thanks very much Rachel, I'll try post a bit bigger tomorrow morning, almost bed time for me :)
Well done on the daily Earthshot winner Mitch, a fine image here.
Love the cane BG and another vote for seeing it @ 1024 wide.

Hi Mitch, its best to leave your OP as is, so when you repost, folks can compare the difference. What an experience just to witness these guys. Good job on the exposure on the black fur, and this guy does look like he's over indulging.Your repost looks so much better in the larger format.
Thanks so much Stuart![]()
Hi Mitchell, the re-post make a huge difference, love the way you composed the image leaving lots of room all around and placing the gorilla in the bottom left. Good to see you posting again, look foward to see more![]()
Hey Mitch !!!! Great work and a truly inspiring image. look forward to seeing more from your recent travels !
Hi Mitch, pleased to see the image bigger, makes a huge difference and allows the viewer to appreciate the subject more. Like the vertical backdrop of the bamboo, but personally might move the whole crop down so there is a little more at the foot of the image.
A friend of mine has just released a new book on Gorillas, so this is a nice change to look at.

PS Please can you add the EXIF data when posting nextime, cheers.![]()
Post Production: It’s ALL about what you do with the tools and not, which brand of tool you use.
Exceptional image Mitch.
The larger version really brings out the life in this image. Agree with Steve K's suggestion about a little more space on the bottom if you got it. Feel that would help anchor that nice bamboo wall in the BG. He sure does look content.
Congrats on Earthshots. Nice comp, like the re-post
