    Default Scarlet Tanager

This is the only picture I have taken of this bird.

This was taken Hand Held, the bird was sitting on a branch right on top of head.

In PP - applied NR to get rid of BG noise, adjusted Exposure and default Sharpening.

    C&C welcome.

You did OK considering the steep angle and all the leaves. I can understand you getting excited by this species.

    Thanks Artie.

This was taken at Alley Pond Park NY.

I went to shoot GHO...this was bonus.

Thanks Sachin. Even though I live in NY for 45 years I never birded there. Did in Forest Park though.

Beautiful bird! Congrats on getting a decent frame! As Artie pointed out the angle is steep and the foliage in front of the bird is less than ideal. Also some of the reds look a little cooked (the bright area adjacent to the wing); you may be able to salvage them with some selective desaturation and luminance adjustments. More like this:

One more thing: the vertical pixel limit is 800 pixels.

I came to know that a pair of GHO nest there every year. Owl being my favorite bird I went there to try my luck.
It is a nice place and trails were not very crowded so I enjoyed it.
