Had the pleasure of photographing this Reddish Egret in gorgeous light one morning last year. I only wish it had been in breeding colors and had both wings up, but nature and timing govern. Cropped from horizontal to vertical.

Thank you all for looking. C & C always welcomed and much appreciated.

This one drew my attention even while looking at the thumbnail. Very nice light and the colors come together in a beautiful way. Like the eye contact and the nice under-wing detail. Well done.

Me too I saw this and yes the full size image does not disappoint. Lovely pose, great detail. If the bill had been in front of a slightly paler background area it would have been enhanced and had you been able to go to the left just a little and a fraction lower - but hey lets enjoy the image - it's great!!.

Terrific pose and underwing details. Exposure looks perfect. Nice calm water always helps with this shooting angle.

Since you mention that this is an orig. horizontal, I am guessing you dont have any room at the top. It needs a tad there and on the right I feel....and then some on the left to balance that.

I like the crop and the elegant curves. I have seen a lot worse looking REEG than this one....
