Lox NWR re-opened the Cypress Boardwalk recently and i took a walk today around it. not much action but a few neat scenes. layed down on the walk and took this one through the trees.

    Harold,

I really like the perspective and colors. It looked a little flat to me so I did the following:

    1) Local Contrast Enhancement USM A=30, R=60, T=0 on BG Copy then reducted opacity to 30% as it was too harsh. I then Ctrl-E to merge with the BG.
    2) Shadow/Highlight in shadows at A=60, R=30, T=15 to lighted up the tree truck shadows - paritally made darker by USM enhancement. Also added a bitr of mid-tone contrast inthe S/H adjustement.
    3) Four rounds of USM at A=125, R=0.2, T=0 to sharpen it.

wow, thanks guys. i've never been accused of undersaturating a photo:o i appreciate the work, robert. the sky had some haze in iplaces that did not look as good as other parts of it and i dont think i did as good of job of fixing it as i could have.

btw, that's full frame without a crop. actually not much work done on it at all. just selected the trees and lightened a bit.

    thanks again!

Very clever, Harold, I like your original better, though.

Awesome image Harold...a really unique view of cypress forest. I'm also very glad to hear that Lox reopened the boardwalk, it's a truly great little walk.
