Okay so here is the question..... bug in or bug out?

This little fella was so curious about this bug..... I love watching them learn about their new world

    Enjoy!

Wow! This is a great behavior shot, Noelle! Amazing soft light and rich color. Definitely bug in - your eye follows the duckings line of site right to it. I like the space you give the duckling in the comp too. Another one for your book!

Bug in for sure. The exposure and dof are perfect for the little one and grass. This could only be better

if the bug was as sharp as the duckling. Very good image.

Love the concentration of the duckling. Lovely soft light, and I like the surrounding grasses. The bug must obviously stay, but I would take a little off the bottom.

    Great capture, the bug stays!

If you did run nr on the bg did you mask the bug though it does look as though it might be in the sharp field.
Perhaps a little off the bottom

Do not mind at all Daniel. I like your version and I was tempted to move the bug myself

    Thank you!

    I prefer the vertical crop.
Personally, I think that moving the bug is almost as bad as moving a bird between images as discussed in here:
    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...read.php/85157

IMO this is a false representation of the truth and it can be a very slippery slope.
    Just my opinion...

I agree with you Ofer. In this case the image is going to be used in a childrens story book which will be fiction so nothing will be the truth. By the time the book is finished that bug will probably be a lady bug because they are much cuter

...and I am OK with your opinion too. Yes, the bug was not in that exact place, but the story of the image remains the same. We can falsely represent directly with in-camera settings...so it all depends where one wants to draw the line on what he/she calls "art".
