    Canon 7D Canon 500mm f4 L IS & 1.4TC 1, tripod ISO 320 +1.0 1/640 sec f7.1

    I inadvertently left the exposure to +1 - this was unnecessary. The seed head was over exposed so I did some cloning.
    I suspect some would prefer a smooth background - the next image will have this but I think I prefer this one. The reed head on the left was in and out of the frame as it blew in the breeze.

    Great open beak pose, Jonathan, nice detail and like the perch and vertical frame. If it were mine, I would clone out the reed head on left. Nice work!

    Like the comp and crop, lovely BG..I would clone out the OOF bullrush! Depends on you ethics though. Nice one Jonathan

    Super comp and bg. Like the pose captured. Subject is razor sharp sharp and the exposure nailed !
