Although I had gone out looking for warblers one evening in April, I couldn't resist this cute fellow when he popped up and posed for a second. A smaller aperture might have kept his tail in focus, but I was pleased with the degree of OOF in the background foliage at f/6.3. Cropped from horizontal.

Some off the top would move the head and eye into one of the power points and make an already fine image even stronger.

    Bill,
This is a lovely image. I agree about taking a bit off the top but otherwise no nits. Great looking eye and feather detail. Nice diagonal perch

This is freakin great, Bill! I'm so impressed by the IQ on these D7000 images. Beautiful bird, and very nicely composed. Agree on bit off the top. Well done!

Excellent exposure on the blacks Bill, and I like the pose and sharpness. The little guy is separated from the BG nicely.

A very pleasing IMG. Subject is sharp and well exposed. The smooth bg is a killer and the soft light is great. Well done !

Thank you all for the kind and helpful comments. I agree about a bit off the top. Another case where my default 3:2 starting point isn't quite right for the image. Thanks for pointing it out.
