    Default Clay-colored Sparrow...closer.

Now that I was happy with a couple of habitat images (see my previous 2 threads), I used the audio to lure this beautiful sparrow closer to me. It only took a few moments, and this fella was in perfect range. I was rather happy it perched low on the perch to get some grass into the frame, so you can say there is a bit of habitat here too. The top part of the perch kinda bugs me, but seeing that this is a "target" species in my parts I'm happy whenever I get good images of it.

Daniel, I like this one the best!

You were able to get a great look from him.

Although I did love the swaying grasses in the first image as well

Love the grasses lower left, the COMP, the soft light, and the perfect head angle. WTG!

Love the pose. I also like the interplay between the in-focus grass in the FG and the OOF grass in the BG.

    I like this picture, Daniel.
Great pose, and composition with a hint of evironment included.
The bird is just the right size in the frame IMO.

    I really like this image.
Comp, Background, HA, it has it all. The IF grass in the foreground makes this shot shine IMO.
I have to say, your shots inspire me

Perfect pose, and I like the soft light in this. The focussed grass on the left balances the comp nicely, and I would maybe take a touch off the top.

Very nice Daniel, I like everything - including the bit if dry climber on the stick - it's natural no need to improve on nature in my opinion

The habitat makes this shot. Great body and head angle and good balance with the other sharp grass stem. Excellent shot!

Hey Krijn, Great to see you here; you should visit more often. :) Heard that it was pretty rainy in Holland this spring! I am headed to Norway on SAT with your buddy.

Daniel there is nothing else to say other than has already has been said.

Stunning stuff and I have really enjoyed your series on this species. A fine lesson of composition, exposure head angle and habitat.

    Thank you for sharing it.

    Daniel:

This shot keeps the nice habitat of the previous ones, while displaying the bird better, so this one works the best for me.

Nice techs, comp. I might consider toning down the white shoot of the right side of the perch, just to reduce its impact a bit.

    Cheers
