    Default Marsh Wren

Anyone who has ever photographed a Marsh Wren knows how fast these guys are, which makes it very difficult to get a clean shot in the open. I am very happy with the outcome of this image. Taken just after sun up. I deliberately shot wide open to keep the BG blurred out.

Looks great, Darren. Love the pose and light. I wish it were mine.
I'm not sure about the reed running behind the bird, but I would leave it and would wait what suggestion you would get from others.

Thanks Karl, I'm not one for cloning out major elements of a composition. Not that I can't do it, I think too many people rely on Photoshop to improve their composition.

Quite loverly. I don't mind the reed behind the bird; it acts like a frame. The whole thing could go a tad lighter for me.

Excellent pose, shooting angle and subject placement. DOF is quite good...the whole bird is covered and so is the reed it is perched on. Good freeze of the bill at that SS.

agree with Artie that it can go lighter.
